An easy and customizable granola recipe with flavors from childhood. A great way to start a healthy year after holiday parties!
I am not much of a cereal person. I am, however, very much an anything-with-oats kind of person.
Granola is one of the things so simple yet so delicious (and healthy!) I made granola for the first time several months ago, and when I tasted the finished product I thought, Why haven’t I made this sooner?
Only three ingredients and this granola is ready to go in the oven. 20 minutes in the oven, then let it cool, and there you have it! You’ve made your own granola. What I love most about this recipe is that you can add whatever you like to this simple base.
A perfect combination of being able to cozy up with a comforting breakfast and the flavors of a summer campfire!
I used to not really like summer. As a kid, I would find myself with nothing to do over the long summer days. Occasionally I’d go to a week long summer camp or be invited to a birthday party, but other than that I was just stuck doing nothing at home.
I love summer now. I enjoy the summer atmosphere of being relaxed, I love all the summer produce (seen with blueberries, pears and figs, mangoes), ICE CREAM, and especially just finding time to chat with friends and family on a breezy summer evening. The sun sets later so we can all enjoy it together.
And of course, campfires. And to go with them, s’mores. I miss all the parts of summer now that we’re in fall, but this oatmeal is the perfect transition between the two seasons.
