As you walk down the street on your way to the beautiful beach, there’s a little bakery. While in Carmel, roaming the streets, I saw several people walk past me with cones of ice cream. I had to get some as well. Using my ice cream detecting skills, I found the Carmel Bakery. Besides their ice cream, their wide array of treats on their window display also lured me in.
This place seems to be crowded a lot and there are several people behind the counter assisting people, ensuring that the line moves fast. There’s not a whole lot of space inside to sit, but there are a few tables as well as some more set up outside.
On a recent trip to Monterey, I was fortunate enough to go and visit the wonderful little town of Carmel. I don’t really know the difference between Carmel, Carmel Valley, and Carmel-by-the-Sea. Do you? If you do, please tell me.
Anyhow, with a party of 7, we arrived in Carmel around 1 PM after driving down 17 Miles Drive and Pebble Beach. We were all famished by then, and decided to make a stop for lunch at this Italian/French seeming restaurant on the corner.
While it was small (in proportion to the rest of the city), they were able to seat our large group at a table in the back. I loved the open and casual ambiance, as well as the simple and fresh sounding menu.
